Benjamin faced Kevin Kim, another former NCAA player, last night in his first of 2 round robin matches at the International Tennis Championships in Delray Beach...The temperatures hovered around 50 degrees which is pretty chiller for South Florida standards. The first set was very tight. BB broke in the first game but was broken back at 3-2...Kim had set points with BB serving at 4-5 and again at 5-6 but BB held firm and convincingly took the tiebreaker. BB again broke early in the second set, but again was broken back. Fortunately, BB was able to break again at 4-3 and served out the match after saving break point. It was not easy, but BB got the job done.
Benjamin, who is seeded 4th at this event, next plays young American, Jesse Levine, who is having a breakout performance this week having qualified and won yesterday in his Main Draw Elimination match. If BB can get through he is assured of a quarterfinal spot.
This photo was taken by Mark Da Cunha who is on hand this week taking great photos of BB and other Renaissance Tennis clients.
